THE BIG SISTER LITTLE SISTER PROGRAM
The Big Sister Little Sister Program at The Learning Spot Inc. is a mentorship initiative designed to empower young girls through meaningful relationships, guidance, and shared experiences. Our program pairs older girls ("Big Sisters") with younger ones ("Little Sisters") to foster confidence, leadership, and positive social development.
Held every second Tuesday of the month, this program creates a safe and nurturing space where girls can connect, learn, and grow together. Activities include character building workshops, arts and crafts, service projects, open discussions, and fun outings, all aimed at building self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and sisterhood.
Whether it is through encouragement, role modeling, or just spending quality time together, our Big Sisters help guide Little Sisters toward becoming strong, confident young women. The program also promotes kindness, respect, and lifelong friendships that extend beyond our sessions.
Meetings
The Big Sister Little Sister Meeting is a monthly interactive mentoring session designed to build strong relationships between young girls and their mentors. Held every second Tuesday of the month, this gathering creates a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where girls can grow in confidence, leadership, and faith. Each meeting begins with a warm welcome and fun ice breaker activities to help everyone feel comfortable.
Mentors (Big Sisters) guide meaningful discussions on monthly themes such as confidence, friendship, or self-worth, often sharing personal stories and encouraging open dialogue. Girls participate in engaging hands-on activities like journaling, arts and crafts, or group challenges that support the lesson of the day. The meeting also includes a brief time of spiritual growth through scripture readings, short devotionals, and prayer. Each session ends with a reflection, allowing participants to share their thoughts and takeaways.
